Well, a legend said that, long long time ago, this place was all green. A grandma named ‘Soom’ went out to some fruits and veggies for herself to eat on one day. Instead of getting those, she lost her way and found sliver and gold. She put them in her sack and brough them home. Unfortunately, the gold and silver were later gone mysteriously. Anyway, as time went by, the place was called ‘Pae Ya Soom Kad Kao’. But it’s not clear why the name was transformed into ‘Pae Muang Pee’ later.
