Mae Chaem – Mae Hong Son – Pai 4 Day Adventure Tour
Conquer Thailand’s highlands on this 4-day adventure—mountains, temples, caves, and authentic hill tribe life await.
If your idea of a holiday involves adventure, exploration, and real cultural immersion, then the Mae Chaem – Mae Hong Son – Pai 4 Day Adventure is tailor-made for you. Each day brings exciting landscapes, physical challenges, and unforgettable moments that connect you with Northern Thailand’s heart.
At 8:00, kick off with a morning pick-up from your Chiang Mai hotel. The journey begins by heading towards Doi Inthanon National Park, Thailand’s highest peak. Standing at 2,565 meters, it offers cool alpine air and sweeping views across the Northern Thai ranges.
Stop for photos at the roaring Wachiratarn Waterfall, then explore the vibrant Hmong Market, a local trading spot packed with fresh produce and handmade crafts.
Next, visit the breathtaking King and Queen Pagodas, built to honor Thai royalty and offering panoramic views that make every climb worthwhile. After lunch, continue the winding mountain route to Mae Chaem, a peaceful town known for its rice terraces and slow village life. Enjoy a home-style dinner and restful overnight stay at a local resort. (Navasoung Resort or Similar)
We will pick you up at the resort around 8:00. Then we will get to the Handicraft Village, to see villagers create amazing handicrafts that you haven’t seen before. After that, we will get to Wat Buddha Oen. The temple is located in the middle of mountains. The area is full of trees, but not too much. There is a well at the temple, which is believed to be a holy well. Villagers usually take the water from there to their homes and use it to wash their bodies or even cook their meals. Beside of the well, there are Lord Buddha statues, which you want to pay respect to.
Then we will get to the Descending Rice Field at Ban Pa Bong Piang. The field consists of the grounds of different levels of hights. It’s enormous like in movies. There are little cottages in the middle of the field. You’re gonna love it for sure.
Let’s have a lunch after that. Then we will take a walk at Wat Chong Kham and Wat Chong Klang for a while. Finally, we should have dinner and check in at Fern Resort (Fern Resort or Similar), probably, in Mae Hong Son. We will spend the night there.
Start with sweeping views from Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu, where misty valleys stretch as far as the eye can see.
Next, board a longtail boat along the Pai River to reach the Long Neck Karen Village (Huay Pu Keng). This is not a staged performance—here, you’ll meet real villagers maintaining their traditions, from weaving to cooking.
After lunch, your adventure continues to the stunning Tham Lod Cave. Glide through on a bamboo raft, explore giant stalactites, and marvel at ancient teakwood coffins dating back thousands of years.
As sunset approaches, head to Phra That Mae Yen Temple for spectacular golden-hour views over Pai and the valley below. If you prefer an easier climb, we offer an alternate sunset experience at Two Huts Pai, with equally stunning scenery.
Evening ends at Pai Walking Street, where food stalls, live music, and artisan goods fill the night with energy. Stay overnight in Pai (Yoma Hotel or Similar)
Begin the final day with a peaceful morning at Santichon Chinese Village, a small Yunnanese community where you can sample Chinese teas and see traditional mud-brick houses. Continue to Yun Lai Viewpoint, a top sunrise spot offering sweeping views over Pai town and surrounding mountains—often blanketed in morning mist.
Afterward, cool off with a visit to Mor Pang Waterfall, a local favorite where visitors can relax, take photos, or even enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural pool.
Following lunch, the adventure continues with a short trek at Pai Canyon (Kong Lan). Here, dramatic red-earth ridges offer narrow, adrenaline-pumping trails with stunning valley views—perfect for final adventure shots.
Before saying goodbye to Pai, stop at the World War II Memorial Bridge, a historic landmark with sweeping river views and an interesting backstory from the war era.
Arrive back in Chiang Mai by early evening, bringing your Mae Chaem – Mae Hong Son – Pai 4 Day Adventure to a perfect close—filled with stories, cultural encounters, and scenic memories.
