Recommended Food

Popular authentic Chinese Dishes in Chinese Yunnan cultural village is Moo Pang Pee (Braised pork with preserved mustard greens), Besides Baba (Yunnanese’s snack). The restaurants are made from straw and mud. Very unique architecture. The restaurant reminds you of another Chinese tea-house in the periodic movie.

Past Santichon village, keep going up the road and you’ll eventually get to the viewpoint. It’s a 20 baht entry fee and there’s a little cafe.

Yun Lai viewpoint is a beautiful spot to see some breathtaking panoramas of Pai’s landscape. This was our favourite place out of all the things to do in Pai. You’ll find it to the east of town just above the Chinese Village. What we didn’t expect to find at the viewpoint was a little Chinese tea shop. For the entry price of 20 baht per person, we got a free pot of Chinese tea served in an ornate china teapot and little china cups.

Mor Paeng waterfall is the closest waterfall from Pai center and the most populated one too. It usually ends up a bike ride (challenging if you do not have a mountain bike with gears) or a scooter ride including Wat Nam Hoo, the Chinese village and Lisu village. There are a few pools where you can swim and even a portion that the bravest use as a slide ramp.
