Chiang Mai City Arts and Cultural Centre is a long-time history museum. It is located in Sriphum District, Chiang Mai Province.  

The Centre displays exhibitions about the origin of Chiang Mai, including local cultures and lifestyles since prehistoric times. So interesting!

There are two type of exhibition zones at the Centre. The first type is ‘the permanent zone’. This zone consists of total 15 rooms, one room for one branch of knowledge. You can learn most everything about Chiang Mai in the ancient periods, from the difficulty of the town establishment to the lifestyles, intellects and cultural highlights. Everything has been being changed all the time until the present days of Chiang Mai. The town you see nowadays, it has never been easy for it to become like this.

The most wonderful thing about the permanent zone, is that the exhibitions are mostly displayed with modern technologies like slides, videos, computer programs, models, graphic boards and lots more. You will have fun with your learning. You will feel no boredom of history at all. It will be a great time.

The next zone is ‘the temporary zone’. This is located within the back building. There are many kinds of exhibitions there. The exhibitions will be kept changing. You will have chances to see their variety. Also, there will be some interesting cultural activities for you. Enjoy them within the indoor area or the open-air area!

The museum may seem a little bit quiet for you, but this is a good atmosphere for learning, peaceful and clean. You can go there no matter who you are or how old you are. The museum is available from Tuesday to Sunday, not including festival holidays, from the time 8:30-17:00.

Thai tourists : 20 Baht for an adult, 10 Baht for a child

Foreign tourists : 90 Baht for an adult, 40 Baht for a child

How to get there

Chiang Mai City Arts and Cultural Centre is located on Phrapokklao Road , Sriphum District, Muang County, Chiang Mai Province.

First, you can grab your personal car. The museum is in the area of the moat, somewhere nearby the intersection between Phrapokklao Road and Ratchaviti Road. If you find the Monument of the Three Kings, you will find the museum just behind. Don’t worry about parking lots, there are plenty for you. The parking lots will be on the same side of Ratchaviti Road.

Another choice is to take a red truck and tell the driver that you want to go to Chiang Mai City Arts and Cultural Centre. You will be dropped off in front of the monument. Then you walk on your feet until you reach the museum or the most comfortable, we recommend you to travel by private tour or if you travel on budget, we can provide the budget tour for you.
