Phu Sang National Park ‘Enjoy playing in the water of Phu Sang Waterfall.’
Visiting a waterfall is an activity that all tourists should try for once. It can cool you down, it case you feel nervous. It will also be a nice vacation plan for you and your family.
Phu Sang National Park is a great idea, as it has ‘Phu Sang Waterfall’. This is a must-go place. Make your time. Arrange your schedule. Get some day off. Book a ticket. Pack your things. And go!
Speaking of Phu Sang Waterfall, it’s not large. It’s small. The water is about 35 degree Celcius, normally. Let’s cool yourself down by getting in the water and swimming. There isn’t sulphur in the water, don’t worry. It’s safe for everyone. Just don’t swim away too far and, if it’s possible, don’t swim alone.
If you don’t want to swim, just have a lovely picnic on the shore instead.
Beside of the waterfall, there are still many other fun things at the national park. You will also enjoy camping. There are shelters and camping grounds. Just book a shelter or take your own tent for better experience. Camping in the middle of nature is something that you should do for once in lifetime. It will teach you how to survive in nature and it will also make you feel relaxed.
There is also a restaurant at the national park. Don’t worry that you won’t have any food to eat. There are even meeting rooms, in case you will go on a vacation with your colleagues and hold a convention. This Phu Zang national park is a true all-in-one national park. However, don’t worry. Even there are many facilities, but the natural identity of the place is always there.
The next thing is Phu Chom Dao, the most perfect sightseeing spot. If you get up early in the morning, you should go up there to watch the sunrise, which is truly romantic. Get up there with your love one. If you guys have some instant food, just have a breakfast up there. That’s a great idea.
Or Doi Phu Dam, this is a high mountain, about 1,069 metres higher than the medium sea level. By getting up there, you will be able to sweep your eyesight around and observe the overall scenery of the town from a great distance. Get your camera ready and take some wide-scene photos. Don’t forget to inhale sweet smell of the air into your lungs too.
As the national park mostly consists of high mountains and is surrounded by woodlands, you won’t want to miss nature exploration. There are 5 different types of forest at the national park, consisting of mixed forest, dry dipterocarp forest, hill evergreen forest, dry evergreen forest, pine forest. Enjoy exploring them. You will do exercise and have a sightseeing at the same time. On your way, you may meet some animals. Be cautious, nature exploration is not a suggested activity for you if you have some serious diseases, especially heart disease or bone disease.
Phu Sang national park is a good choice for camping and waterfall swimming. Spend a few nights there and enjoy all activities.

How to get there
The north of the national park connects to Toeng County, Chiang Rai Province. The south connects to Chiang Kham County, Phayao Province. The east connects to Lao. The west connects to Phu Sang Sub-district.
But, to be precise about the address of the national park, it’s at 146, Area 8, Phu Sang District, Phu Sang County, Phayao Province.
You should start from Phayao downtown. The national park is about 96 kilometres away. Find the Highway 1021(Phayao-Dok Khan Tai-JUn Chiang Kham). Just go straight.
Another way is to start from Chiang Kham county and turn right to get to the Highway 1093 before reaching Phu Sang Wittayakom School. After that, just drive pass Phu Sang County Office.
Starting from Chiangrai will also work. Just follow the Highway 1021. It takes about 100 kilometres.
In case you don’t have a car or don’t know how to drive, just get a bus from Phayao to Chiang Kham instead.
