How to get there
Phu Chi Phe is located in Khun Yuam County, Mae Hong Son Province.
Now, let us get this straight, if you’re not a strong driver, you shouldn’t drive your car up to Phu Chi Phe, especially if your car is small or old. To be precise, regular cars aren’t supposed to go up there. The road is too rough and steep to do so. You better use a four-wheeled car or a strong truck. Or you can just contact some staffs at Mae Yod Water Source Management, as Phu Chi Phe is under the care of the department.
Anyway, if you decided to drive, just use the same route that leads you do Doi Mae-U-Kho Buatong Field. Look for the sign at the entrance. Phu Chi Phe is located before the Buatong Field, only 5 kilometres away.
As this place is on the same route as Phu Chi Phe, let’s not skip it. At this place, you will find the flower called ‘Buatong’ or ‘Tithonia diversifolia’. Originated in Mexico, the flower is gorgeous but quite harmful to ecological system. Anyway, if you get there during winter, you would see a countless amount of the flower. There are so many of it that you could even get dizzy.
This national park is about 9.1 kilometres away from Phu Chi Per. Be happy to explore the woodlands around. For the waterfall, it’s small and not very high, compared to other waterfalls. But it’s still a beautiful one anyway.
