Further details of the national park
Lam Nam Nan National Park is even higher than Sirikit Dam. It consists of a reservoir, originated from Sirikit Dam, and forests. For forests, there are mostly high mountains: Doi Sanphakhiak, Doi San Pha Mhoo, Doi Pang Muang Kham, Doi Pha Theep, Doi Cha Kan, Khao Had la, Khao Huai Chan, Phu Mon Kratai, Phu Khon Kaen, and Phu Phaya Pho. Phu Phaya Pho is 1,350 metres above the sea level. It’s the highest one that separated Uttaradit and Phrae from each other.
There are 3 types of forests there: mixed forests, semi-evergreen forests, and deciduous dipterocarp forests. Semi-evergreen forests connect Uttaradit, Phrae, and Nan together. Mixed forests can be found around Sirikit Dam, and there are lots of rare plants. Deciduous dipterocarp forests can be found on the left side of Lam Nam Nan Lake. Animals of small sizes and medium sizes inhabit these forests.
