A romantic place doesn’t have to be luxurious. Instead, it can be natural and relaxing, like Ang Ka Luang.
Ang Ka Luang is a perfect place for loving couples to go on a trip together. With high trees and mountains around, you will feel like you both fall in love each other again and again.
Ang Ka Luang is a natural walking path within Doi Inthanon National Park. It consist of a wooden bridge of 300 metre length and thick tree shades. There are woodlands around. You will walk leisurely without fearing that you will feel hot. In fact, the air is quite cool.
The walking bridge was design by a Canadian zoologist named Michael McMillan. It’s strong and definitely safe for everyone.
However, the bridge can be slippery sometime, as there is quite a lot of moss growing. Be sure to walk carefully, slowly. Don’t rush yourself.
How to get there.
Ang Ka Luang is located in Doi Inthanon National Park. You can choose any of these routes to get there.
- Get along the Highway Chiang Mai-Hod. Pass Hang Dong Vounty and San Pa Tong County. Turn right at the point, which is about 2 kilometres before Chom Tong County, and switch to teh Highway 1009. Then keep driving for about 8 kilometres and you will reach the national park.
- Use the same highway as the first route. You will pass Hang Dong County, San Pa Tong County, Chom Tong County, and Hod County. Then just move to the Highway 108 and pass Ob Luang National Park. Finally, you can turn right into Mae Cham County. Keep going straight along the Highway 1008 and 1192.
- You will pass Hang Dong County and San Pa Tong County. Then turn right into the Highway 1013 before switching to the Highway 1284. At last, you will pass Ban Khun Wang and get into the Highway 1009. You will find your destination soon.

Kew Mae Pan is only about 1 kilometre away from Doi Inthanon. This is a very beautiful sightseeing point. If you’re lucky, you will be right on time to see the sunrise and thick fog. There are high mountains around, perfect for taking lots of photos.
The Khun Wang Royal Project is located in the mountains near Doi Inthanon National Park about 60km southwest of Chiang Mai. Various activities have been installed by the Royal Project that has given villagers profitable work and a better livelihood. The Khun Wang project is also home to a research center devoted to studying the uses of macadamia nuts.
